Day 1-4 Explore the wild side of the Okavango Delta

You will be met at the airport and transferred by charter plane to Oddballs' Camp. This camp offers two very different experiences: staying in a very basic, potentially busy base camp or taking the plunge into the surrounding wilderness on a mokoro, for a truly rustic, private experience of untamed Africa. The camp best serves as a jumping off point for the overnight mokoro trails, offering little else in terms of luxury or other activities. Although there are no motorized activities on offer, you'll have your own private guide, who is from the local community. Typically, activities take place in the early morning and late afternoon, but if you're keen on a whole day outing, the team will happily pack a picnic lunch for you. The focus is on exploring the channels and lagoons in a mokoro, and the islands on foot. The best option at Oddball's is to do a multi-day mokoro trail, camping out in the wilderness with your guide. They'll provide everything you need except for a sleeping bag.

Day 5-6 Soak up the views at the prestigious Victoria Falls hotel

Next, you will be flown to Victoria Falls Hotel. This ‘Grand Old Lady’ needs little introduction as one of the most famous hotels on the continent. Seamlessly blending colonial glamour with some serious style thanks to a recent refurb, it has been welcoming guests since 1904 and is an icon of a bygone era. Nowadays, the hotel is famous for its tranquil location 10 minutes away from the awe-inspiring Falls, the utterly charming service and mesmerising view of the misty spray rising from the bridge… best enjoyed from the terrace alongside a pot of tea and a tower of scones of course. The on-site activity centre is a handy one stop shop for all your Victoria Falls needs, from the nail-bitingly adventurous white-water rafting and bungee jumping, the slightly more sedate helicopter flights and the perfectly relaxing river cruises and guided walks. Also worth a mention are fishing trips on the Zambezi and a stroll around the town of Victoria Falls for those all-important souvenirs.

Day 7-11 Enjoy a shady, uncrowded ocean side sanctuary in Mozambique

You will be flown to your final stop. Atop a ridge, you'll find Casa Rex with views across the southern-central section of Vilanculo Bay. Stretched out over neat-as-a-pin gardens and shaded by flowering trees, the property is well laid out to allow for areas of privacy and to take advantage of the cooling tropical winds and views. The main beach might not be the best for swimming at low tide, but do adventure to the outer lying archipelagos, where the diving is well worth the adventure. Being a boat ride away from the Bazaruto Archipelago you are surrounded by tropical island reef waters and marine life: expect to spend a lot of time near or in the blue warm waters. Most water sports like scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing and kayaking can be arranged through the lodge. This is some of Mozambique's top areas for scuba diving, so think about taking lessons before you arrive to maximise your experience.
