Day 1-3 Treetop Luxury on the Garden Route

On landing at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, you’ll be met and assisted with your connecting fight to George (on South Africa’s Garden Route). Here, a private road transfer takes you to Tsala Treetop Lodge, for your 3-night stay in a Treetop Suite. Tucked into the forest canopy, these beautiful suites each have a lounge with a fireplace (which is lit in the evenings), and a private deck with an infinity pool and amazing forest views. Tsala has a wonderfully peaceful setting, although there’s plenty to do in the area. Included in this itinerary is a full-day guided tour: go on a boat trip to see dolphins and (in season) whales, and visit the Monkeyland Primate Reserve. We’d also recommend a canopy tour in the Knysna forest, lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the Knysna Lagoon (try the town’s famous oysters), and a relaxing morning on the sandy beaches of Plettenberg Bay.

Day 4-6 Award-Winning Hotel in Beautiful Cape Town

You’re driven back to George Airport for your flight to Cape Town, and private road transfer to the Cape Grace. Set on its own private quay in the V&A Waterfront, this award-winning hotel is a top choice for a Cape Town holiday. Exceptional service, elegant décor and a central location in one of the world’s favourite cities! Over the next few days we’ve included a private city tour, as well as a full-day tour around the Cape Peninsula. A few highlights are sure to include the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, the Boulder’s Beach penguins, the views from Cape Point's towering cliffs, beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens and Cape Town’s colourful markets. Cape Town is famous for its fine dining restaurants. Our travel experts can make recommendations and bookings (many have to be booked well in advance). Or opt to dine in at the hotel's highly acclaimed Signal Restaurant which serves contemporary Cape cuisine.

Day 7-8 Fine Food & Wine in the Franschhoek Valley

You’re driven from Cape Town out to the Cape Winelands town of Franschhoek. Here you’ll be staying at Leeu House which, while set on the pretty high street, has the feel of a secluded oasis. Stroll to nearby restaurants, galleries and sidewalk cafes; and take the free shuttle to their sister estate (Leeu Estate) for wine tasting and spa treatments. Your stay in the Cape Winelands includes a full-day private tour to incredible wine farms for tastings, pairings and cellar tours. While this is the centre of South Africa’s award-winning wine industry, a stay in the Cape Winelands is not only about wine. Go horse riding through the vineyards, play a round of golf on a nearby course, and visit neighbouring Stellenbosch with its oak-lined streets and historic Cape Dutch buildings. Food, once again, is a highlight! And choosing where to have dinner is likely to be the most difficult (and enjoyable) decision of your day.

Day 9-11 Luxury Big Game Safari at Londolozi

A private transfer takes you to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Skukuza, and luxury safari at Londolozi. One of South Africa’s original private reserves, Londolozi is home to all of Africa’s Big 5 and is known in particular for exceptional leopard sightings! Your accommodation, Varty Camp, has 10 safari chalets each opening onto a private viewing deck and plunge pool overlooking the Sand River. Morning and afternoon game drives are led by your expert guide-and-tracker team. Since Londolozi is a private reserve, off-road driving is allowed which means you can get up close to thrilling wildlife sightings! Back at the lodge there’s a photographic studio, where a professional photographer can help edit your favourite wildlife images and print a couple on canvas.

Day 12-13 Stay Within Walking Distance of Victoria Falls

Leaving Londolozi, you’re transferred to Kruger International Airport for your flight to Livingstone (in Zambia). Here you’ll be staying at The Royal Livingstone, an elegant riverside hotel with a private footpath down to Victoria Falls. That evening you’re taken on a Zambezi River cruise, toasting the sunset as you watch for hippo and elephant on the riverbank. Your itinerary includes a guided tour of Victoria Falls. Paths lead through rainforest and out to viewpoints of this, the largest sheet of falling water in the world! Also included is a scenic helicopter flight (the Flight of Angels) over the Falls. From the air you can truly appreciate the size of Victoria Falls, as well as capture incredible photographs. Back at the Royal Livingstone zebra graze the hotel lawns. And, when the Zambezi River is in full flood, you can sit on the lodge deck looking out at the spray rising up from the falls.

Day 14-17 Moroko Safaris & Game Drives in the Okavango Delta

In the morning you cross into Botswana to Kasane Airport for your flight to Baines’ Camp. This small camp (just five suites) lies in a private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve. The staff here are excellent and love to surprise with extra treats, like returning from a game drive to find a bubble bath out on your private deck. Game drives hold the promise of sightings of elephant, lion and the endangered wild dog. You can also explore the Okavango Delta's reed-fringed channels in a mokoro (traditional dug-out canoe), or set out on foot on a walking safari. At night why not ask for your four-poster bed to be rolled out onto your private deck, and drift off to sleep under a blanket of stars. Being a small camp, Baines’ has a relaxed and sociable feel. Between activities, guests often come together to swap safari stories over drinks while taking in the beautiful Okavango Delta views.

Day 18 Flight Back to Johannesburg

Following a final breakfast, you're transferred to Baines’ Camp private airstrip for your 10-minute flight to Maun (Botswana's gateway to the Okavango Delta). From Maun you’re flown back to Johannesburg (included in cost) in good time for your international flight back home.
