This is a great orientation tour of Cape Town. Highlights of this half day tour include a visit up Table Mountain on the cableway, where the varying flora and fauna will be explained; exploring the Malay Quarter – a historic picturesque area of the city with original Malay buildings and narrow streets. You tour some of the historic sights of the city center and stroll through the Company Gardens. Time permitting you will also see the Castle of Good Hope, built in 1652 and now painstakingly restored, and enjoy a photographic opportunities of Table Mountain from Table Bay. (Please Note: The cable car ticket is not included as the mountain visit is weather permitting.) The afternoon is at leisure. We can arrange a number of optional tours or you can explore under your own steam.

We collect you in the early morning & travel along the spectacular Atlantic Seaboard through Clifton & Camps Bay & on to Hout Bay. (An optional extra: take short 30 minute boat cruise to view the Seal colony on Duiker Island.) Next enjoy a scenic drive along Chapmans Peak drive – if open – it hugs the cliffside with a 200m drop on one side & a 200m rise on the other. Continue to the Cape of Good Hope National Park & explore the rocky coastline & Cape Fynbos which is home to unique bird- & wildlife. Climb up to the Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical views over the bay. Returning along the Indian Ocean & stop to visit the penguin colonies at Boulders beach. Meander through the historic naval base of Simonstown and admire the views of Kalk Bay as well as St James & Muizenberg. Finish with Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens. The gardens are where 4,000 of the 22,000 Southern African flowering plants are cultivated in a setting of mountain streams, pools & rolling lawns.

Full day tour - Cape Winelands. Explore the towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek as well as wine tasting at local wine estates. Day 5 - you are transferred back to Cape Town International Airport for your scheduled flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit or Kruger. Elephant Plains (or Ulusaba Safari Lodge) offers a relaxing intimate safari experience. The main sitting area is an open sided sitting room under thatch roof overlooking the waterhole – the perfect spot for game viewing. The Sabi Sands is considered to have some of the best Big Five game-viewing in the country with an open border with the Kruger so animals move freely in & out. After a final early morning game drive, you enjoy a scenic transfer to your country lodge via some of the highlights of the Drakensberg Escarpment region. Depending on what time you get away from the lodge, you will usually visit the scenic Blyde River Canyon, stopping at God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Three Rondavels along the way. Time is allowed for shopping for crafts at the various craft vendors along the way. Oliver’s Hotel & Restaurant is a very pleasant four star hotel between White River and Hazyview in the Drakensberg Escarpment area close to the Kruger National Park. The lodge is situated on the White River Country Estate and overlooks the first green of the 18 hole championship golf course. Early morning transfer to Kruger International Airport for your flight to Livingstone Airport. The Victoria Falls - is a sight not to be missed. The clouds of spray generated by this thunderous descent have resulted in a lush rain forest full of stunning wild flowers. The most spectacular views of the Falls are from the Zambian side of the gorge. Various optional activities are on offer including canoeing & languorous sunset river cruises. To gain an overall impression of the Falls, the helicopter ‘Flight of Angels‘ is considered essential by some. For the more adventurous, micro light flights, bungee jumping & white water rafting are available. Game drives & horse riding are also offered in the Zambezi National Park. Day 10 Morning tour of the Victoria Falls plus an evening Sundowner Cruise

This morning you enjoy a guided walking tour of the Victoria Falls where you can enjoy the Falls from various viewing points. In the late afternoon, you enjoy a sunset cruise. The boat meanders slowly upstream along the length of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park looking for game on the way. A number of animals and a host of bird species can be viewed from comfortable chairs on cool wooden decks. Excellent hot and cold food is served on board and the bar is well stocked with spirits, good wines, beers and soft drinks. The African Queen is a 5-star boat, a triple deck 70ft catamaran furnished in Rhodesian teak, beech wood and brass. There’s a host of other activities which we can pre-book for you such as elephant back safaris, white water rafting, steam train dinner excursions to name but a few.

Day 11 Chobe National Park full day excursion

The Chobe National Park in Botswana is only a 1½ hour drive from Livingstone so its possible to visit it for a day safari. Chobe is one of the greatest game reserves in southern Africa & home to the largest elephant population in the world. The Chobe River flows lazily through the Caprivi flood plains & provides a haven for huge herds of buffalo & elephant, zebra, wildebeest & impala which are followed closely by predators including lion, hyena, the elusive leopard & the odd pack of the now rare wild dog. Your Chobe safari starts with a morning game viewing cruise on the Chobe River with tea, coffee, drinks & light snacks served on board. Lunch is served at Chobe Safari Lodge which overlooks the Chobe River & the plains beyond. In the afternoon, open safari vehicles are used for a game drive into the Chobe National Park, with a chance of spotting lion & buffalo as well as numerous plains game species.
