Day 1-4 Cape Town’s Beaches & Waterfront Hotel

Stepping off the plane at Cape Town, you’re welcomed and driven to the One&Only in the V&A Waterfront. This fantastic location puts you a short stroll from the Waterfront’s many shops, bars and restaurants; as well as the ferry to Robben Island. Four days is just enough time to get to know one of the world’s favourite cities! A few must-visit attractions include the white sand beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton, a cable car trip to the top of Table Mountain, a day out in the Cape Winelands and the penguins at Boulder’s Beach. Back at the hotel, relax in your spacious suite with its private balcony overlooking the surrounding waterways or book a treatment at the island spa. The One&Only has 2 acclaimed restaurants – Nobu and Reuben’s – but staying at the waterfront you really are spoiled for choice.

Day 5-6 See the Big Five in the Kruger Park

From Cape Town you’re flown to the Kruger National Park, and the start of your wildlife safari. Your first stop, Sweni Lodge, is the smallest and most intimate of the Singita properties. Stay in one of just 6 luxurious glass-walled suites, tucked amongst the trees overlooking the Sweni River. Sweni Lodge lies is a vast private concession in the Kruger Park. Look forward to exciting game viewing as you set off on morning and afternoon drives led by professional guides and trackers. Over the next few days you’ve got an excellent chance of seeing all of Africa’s Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo – along with an abundance of other wildlife. Between drives there’s time to relax in your suite with its rich calming colours, private deck that seems to hover in the tree branches, and the sound of hippo drifting up from the river below. Service is faultless and food is first rate, accompanied by Singita’s impressive 20,000-bottle wine cellar.

Day 7-8 Singita Safari in the Sabi Sands

From Sweni it’s a short flight to Ebony Lodge in the Sabi Sands. The original Singita lodge, Ebony has 12 recently renovated suites, their interiors combining Egyptian linen, well-polished wood, natural fabrics and modern luxuries to create a warm, inviting feel. Along with luxurious accommodation, you’ll once again be treated to the superb game viewing that is synonymous with Singita. The Sabi Sands has made its name as big cat country with regular sightings of the normally elusive leopard, along with herds of buffalo, elephant, hyena, cheetah and many species of birds. Back at the lodge, each spacious suite opens onto a deck with a private heated plunge pool overlooking the Sand River – game viewing on your doorstep! Ebony Lodge is also known for its bush spa, outstanding cuisine (with a slightly larger choice than at Sweni) and in-house sommelier who’ll help you pick that perfect bottle of wine.

Day 9-11 Riverside Retreat Upstream of Victoria Falls

Your safari ends with a few days at Royal Chundu, on a peaceful stretch of the Zambezi River. Zambia’s first Relais & Chateaux property, Royal Chundu lies a short drive from the falls (around 45 minutes) but is far enough removed to ensure absolute privacy and exclusivity. See Victoria Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. There are many ways to experience this thundering waterfall: walk the paths through mist-soaked rainforest, take to the skies in a helicopter (fantastic for photography) and go white-water rafting. Another popular daytrip is to Chobe in neighbouring Botswana, where game drives and river safaris get you up close to the park's famous elephant herds. Back at Royal Chundu activities include canoeing on the Zambezi, a decadent riverside picnic with Pimms and Persian rugs, and a visit to the local village. As for the cuisine, look forward to fine dining with a delicious Zambian flare.

Day 12 Back to Johannesburg for Your Flight Home

From Royal Chundu you’re driven to Livingstone Airport in a private, air-conditioned minibus (the drive takes around 45 – 50 minutes) for your flight to O.R. Tambo International in Johannesburg (included) and your onward travel arrangements.
