9-Day Falls, Rivers and Deltas
Begin your trip at Victoria Falls, also known to the locals as "The Smoke that Thunders" because of the magnificent plumes of spray that rise above this natural wonder. Next, head over the magical Chobe National Park, where mega herds of elephants congregate on the river floodplains to feed. Continue your journey into the renowned Okavango Delta, to the beautiful Khwai Community Area, where you might be lucky to encounter a pack of wild dogs or a large pride of lions.

Day 1-2 Witness the Victoria Falls from Ilala Lodge
You will be met at the airport and be driven to the hotel. Perched virtually on the edge of the Victoria Falls gorge, its relaxing atmosphere is offset by the rumble of 'The Smoke that Thunders' and the spray that rises from them day and night: it's just a 15-minute walk to the cascade. The town is close too, with its markets, shops and restaurants – and hustling vendors. This luxury retreat, with its discreetly elegant decor, thatched colonial buildings and beautiful gardens, is the perfect place to stay to visit the falls or take part in some of the adrenalin-spiking activities on offer.
op Skim the rapids on a raft, kayak on the Zambezi, bungee-jump from the Victoria Falls bridge, swim in the "Devil’s Pool" (a small rock pool right on the edge of the falls) or view the splendour from above in a light aircraft. Prefer less-frantic adventures? Explore the national parks, cruise on the river (lovely at sunset) or take a heritage rail trip. Activities can be arranged at the lodge.

Day 3-4 A rustic farmhouse-feel in the game-rich Chobe region
Simple but stylish and well-conceived, this small lodge is ideally-placed for daily adventures into the Chobe National Park and is easily accessible from Kasane, Victoria Falls or Livingstone. Nestled on a rocky ridge above the Chobe River, it overlooks the vast floodplains and game-rich river. An eco-minded outfit from the ground up, Chobe Elephant Camp is constructed with only the local wood that is in ample supply. It's also made clever use of another resource - the sandy soil; sandbags are stacked and plastered over to create the walls of the main area and chalets, with the added benefit of keeping things cool.
You'll be venturing into the Chobe National Park most days for game drives, through an entrance gate just a 10-minute drive away. A boat cruise is possible for guests staying at least three nights and is an all-day activity, but the game-viewing is most productive along the Chobe River so it's well worth the effort.

Day 5-6 Explore the Okavango Delta from Khwai Tented Camp
You will be chartered to the camp. This bush camp in the Okavango's vast Khwai Concession couldn't be more isolated in the wilderness, yet it has all the style and comforts of any top lodge. On a beautiful lagoon connected to the Khwai River, the cozy tented camp has a simple but elegant feel. Wildlife of all kinds passes through this area, including plains game and numerous silent, and not-so-silent predators (such as lion, leopard and wild dogs).
Activities at Khwai Tented Camp include day and night game drives in the concession and further afield. Seasonal mokoro trips, which involve drifting past elephant and hippo in low riding dugout canoes, are a must. On request, visits to Khwai Village can be arranged for a glimpse into the life of the local people. A particularly special activity is a walking safari. These are lead by knowledgeable, local guides, who revel in sharing the magic of the wilds with you.

Day 7-8 The wildest way to experience the Okavango Delta
Oddball's offers two very different experiences: staying in a very basic, potentially busy base camp (Oddball's) or taking the plunge into the surrounding wilderness on a mokoro, for a truly rustic, private experience of untamed Africa. The camp best serves as a jumping off point for the overnight mokoro trails, offering little else in terms of luxury or other activities. The trails, on the other hand, offer something that's difficult to find in Africa's modern day safari industry - just you and your guide camping out on remote islands that you can explore on foot, and navigating the myriad of channels in a genuine dug-out mokoro. This is as close to nature as you'll ever get.
Although there are no motorized activities on offer, you're spoiled by having your own private guide, who is invariably from the local community. Typically, activities take place in the early morning and late afternoon, but if you're keen on a whole day outing, the team will happily pack a picnic lunch for you.
