Day 1-3 Enjoy some R&R, Zambian style

You will be met at the airport and transferred to your lodge by road. An assortment of quirky houses and cottages dotted along the banks of the Zambezi, Tongabezi is a lodge with style, exclusivity and bucket loads of charisma. Only a short boat ride away from the heart of Victoria Falls and buzzing Livingstone town, a host of wild and wonderful activities are easily accessible. But to be totally honest, a day spent in this secluded and peaceful hideaway for a bit of R&R Zambian-style might be just what the doctor ordered. Activities are focused on Victoria Falls and range from daredevil white-water rafting, bungee jumping and micro-light flights to serene day and sunset boat cruises, picnics on Livingstone Island and visits to Tujutane, the Tongabezi school. For animal lovers, guided nature and bird walks are available as are day trips to Mosi-o-Tunya National Park and Chobe on the Botswana border.

Day 4-7 Experience a welcoming balance of sophisticated comfort and isolated wilderness

You will catch a an air transfer to South Africa and then the Kruger. Heading to the original Singita lodge, Ebony lies beneath spreading jackalberry trees on the banks of the Sand River, the perennial waterway that flows through Singita Private Game Reserve within the larger Sabi Sand Reserve. The lodge has recently been revamped, but the welcoming atmosphere of a place where people have a real love of Africa's wild spaces remains. Here, colonial comfort meets Afro-chic to create a super-comfortable wilderness sanctuary. There's no shortage of activities, from day and night game drives to walking safaris (which, to be true, tend to focus more on the animals missed during game drives, such as reptiles, insects and birds than the big beasts), mountain biking, community visits, a spa treatment, wine tasting with the in-house sommelier and, for children, the exciting Mini Rangers’ Course. Day 8-12 Relax into Indian Ocean luxury at its best

Continuing by air to your next destination, the Quirimbas in Mozambique. If you’re looking for a truly luxurious experience, look no further than Azura Quilalea. This tastefully decorated lodge has managed to blur the lines between opulence and barefoot luxury. Although you’re on a remote desert island off Africa, do hide your surprise when you’re suddenly rubbing shoulders with some celebrity clientele at the bar. You can scuba dive and snorkel off the beach, there is a mangrove forest in the interior of the island, which is ideal for a kayaking trip where you can marvel at the birds above and the languid fish below.
