Day 1-3 Classic Safari in Moremi Game Reserve

On arrival at Johannesburg International, you’ll be met with VIP Tarmac Assistance and helped through customs and onto your connecting flight to Maun. From there, a 25-minute charter flight takes you to Camp Xakanaxa, deep in the wilderness of Moremi Game Reserve. One of the oldest camps in the Okavango Delta, Xakanaxa has a prime location which allows for both land- and water-based game viewing all year round! Set out on guided game drives in search of lion, elephant, leopard and wild dogs; and enjoy boat cruises on the Xakanaxa Lagoon stopping for sunset drinks and to take in the incredible scenery. After a day’s game viewing, look forward to dinner served under the stars and fireside chats on the beautiful deck extending out over the Khwai River. Xakanaxa is a tented camp so, while lying safe and warm in your bed at night, you may hear buffalo grazing nearby or hippo grunting in the river below.

Day 4-5 Water-Based Camp in the Okavango Delta

A 15-minute flight takes you deeper into the heart of the Okavango Delta. Tucked away on a forested island is Camp Okavango, a true water-based camp which can only be reached by boat or plane. Set out on mokoros (dugout canoes), gliding down reed-lined channels past water lilies and brightly coloured birds. Motorboats take you into deeper channels, while walking safaris explore nearby islands. Tracking wildlife on foot is an exhilarating adventure, safe in the hands of your highly trained guide. A chance to really notice the delta’s smaller creatures, while learning more about the big game and phenomenal bird life too. For many the real magic of Camp Okavango is the incredible peace and tranquility of staying in true wilderness with no roads. The camp itself has been recently rebuilt and has a fresh look with luxurious suites linked by elevated walkways that wind through the trees. Each suite opens onto a private deck with Okavango Delta views.

Day 6-7 Game Drives in Predator-Packed Savuti

Leaving the Okavango Delta, you’re flown to the Savuti Region of Chobe National Park. Here you’ll be staying at Savute Safari Lodge which has 12 thatch-and-timber chalets, and a fantastic dining deck and swimming pool overlooking an active waterhole. A true wildlife hotspot, the Savuti Region is known for excellent predator sightings! Zebra and antelope graze the grasslands of the Savuti Marsh; the hunting grounds for large prides of lion and packs of hyena. Leopard patrol the woodlands, and this is one of the best places in Botswana to see wild dogs. Between the thrill morning and afternoon drives, the game viewing continues back at the lodge. Herds of elephant and other wildlife regularly gather at the waterhole to drink. So, as you sit down to lunch or have a dip in the pool, you could find yourself watching baby elephants splash about!

Day 8-9 Safari Houseboat on the Chobe River

You’re flown from Savute Safari Lodge to Kasane Airport, and then transferred via road and boat to the Chobe Princess (crossing into Namibia along the way). Three Princesses cruise Botswana’s famous Chobe River, each sleeping between eight and 10 guests. With only a small number of people on board, staying on a Chobe Princess feels like being on your very own houseboat. The days’ activities are planned around you: go game viewing on the smaller tender boats (fantastic for photography), enjoy fishing trips for tiger fish and bream, or stretch out on a sun lounger as you drift down the Chobe River. The air-conditioned cabins each have a king-size bed, where you can relax and enjoy your slice of river view. On the upper entertainment deck, you’ll find a lounge, bar and outdoor plunge pool. In the evenings after toasting the sunset, everyone sits down together to a 3-course dinner whipped up by the houseboat chef.

Day 10 Fly to Johannesburg
