Day 1-3 Big 5 Safari in the Sabi Sands

On arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport, you’ll be met and assisted to the departure lounge for your flight to Dulini Lodge. This wonderful little lodge has just six suites, and is set in a private concession in the Sabi Sands Reserve. The Sabi Sands is famous for big cat sightings, so you’ve got a good chance of seeing both lion and leopard, as well as elephant, rhino and buffalo (the rest of Africa’s Big 5). Set out on twice-daily game drives, led by your expert guide-and-tracker team. Since Dulini is in a private reserve, your guide is permitted to drive off-road, getting you right up close to the animals you see. Between drives relax by your private pool as monkeys play in the branches overhead. And at night, dine under the ancient Jackalberry trees; the excellent food accompanied by a bottle of wine from Dulini’s well-stocked wine cellar.

Day 4-5 Pure Luxury Upstream of Victoria Falls

A private transfer takes you to Kruger International Airport for your flight to Livingstone Airport in Zambia. Here you'll be met and driven to Royal Chundu, a Relais & Chateaux lodge that lies less than an hour’s drive from Victoria Falls. Royal Chundu is perfectly placed for day trips to the Falls, followed by peaceful evenings overlooking a private stretch of the Zambezi River. The largest sheet of falling water in the world, Victoria Falls is an incredible sight to see! As for the area around the falls; choose from helicopter flips, horse riding, white-water rafting and diner aboard a stream train. Back at the lodge there are many activities too including tiger fishing, paddling downstream past pods of hippos or enjoying a lazy riverside picnic complete with delicious snacks and gently swaying hammocks. In the evening, watch the sunset while cruising the Zambezi - your favourite drink in hand. As night falls, join theother guests for a six-course Zambian tasting menu.

Day 6-7 Stylish Houseboat on the Chobe River

A road transfer takes you to the Chobe River, where you'll cruise in style aboard the Zambezi Queen. This luxury houseboat feels like a floating hotel, its 14 air-conditioned suites each with their own balcony and uninterrupted river views. Spot wildlife or see a fish eagle take flight – all while relaxing on your king-size bed. During Botswana’s dry season the Chobe River attracts Africa’s greatest elephant herds: hundreds of elephant can be seen, along with buffalo, hippo, giraffe and (occasionally) lion. Smaller safari boats get you up close to the wildlife, while other popular activities include tiger fishing, bird watching or local village visits. Days are flexible on a houseboat. Keen photographers can start early to catch that golden dawn glow while those in holiday mode can opt for a lie in. In the evenings, sit down to an excellent three-course dinner. After a nightcap at the bar, return to your suite to drift off to sleep to the soft grunt of hippo.

Day 8 Breakfast on the River, then Back to Joburg

Enjoy a morning cruise during breakfast as you do your last bit of animal spotting. You’re then be taken by boat to the Namibian Immigration Office. Once you’ve had your documents stamped, you're transferred to the Kasane Immigration Office in Botswana and then driven to Kasane International Airport. From Kasane you fly back to O.R. Tambo International in Johannesburg (included in the cost) to connect with your onward travel arrangements.
