12-Day The Ernest Hemingway
Begin your exploration in Ruaha, a park where prides of lion stalk herds of buffalo across palm-studded plains. Stroll down the Tarangire River, following the meandering waterway of the renowned Tarangire, and watch as elephants jostle for space with antelope on its banks. Stop off in the Serengeti and walk the rolling plains of quintessential Africa. Discover big cats atop rocky kopjes, rivers that teem with crocodile and grasslands filled with the thundering hooves of the Great Migration.

Day 1-3 A perfect cocktail of remote wildness and luxury in Ruaha
You will be met at the airport and directed onto your charter flight to your first camp, Kwihala. This small and personal tented camp in the Ruaha National Park operates from June to March. Secluded in a bushwillow thicket, just to the North of the Mwagusi Sand River, it is the perfect vantage point from which to explore. The camp’s location is said to be one of the best in Ruaha, being close to the water yet far enough away from other camps to create a sense of privacy. Intimate safari does not get much better than this.
This land locked camp’s experiences are based on the raw untouched bush that surrounds it. Choose from day or night game drives, wonderful birding and, to top it off, some of the best and most secluded bush walks Tanzania has to offer. Nocturnal game drives reveal unusual creatures and excitement as antelope come out to feed in the cool of the night and predators take advantage of the dark to hunt.

Day 4-5 A quality safari with exceptional guiding in the Tarangire
From Kwihala you will be air transferred to Little Oliver’s, the smaller and more intimate brother camp of Oliver’s. Set in the Southern section of the remote and untamed Tarangire National Park, downstream from Oliver's camp, it overlooks a flood plain of the Minyoyo Pools that form part of the Tarangire River system. The perfect place to escape the crowds and experience your own slice of untamed Africa.
Little Oliver’s is renowned for its specialised walking safaris. Guests can enjoy game walks with highly-skilled guides, where they will learn about tracking, flora and fauna. Intrepid adventurers can opt for a three-day wilderness walking adventure, sleeping out in a lightweight fly camp. Not so keen on walking? Not to worry, there are also day and night game drives to explore the park’s curious creatures and striking landscapes.

Day 6-8 Witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti
From Little Oliver's, you will once again be transferred by air to your next camp, Namiri Plains.
Leaving behind the herds of inquisitive travellers during the Great Migration is no small feat. And that is where Namiri Plains comes into its own. Open from June to April, this gem of a private camp sits in a secluded section of the Eastern Serengeti. It’s the perfect spot from which to watch the Great Migration and all the action that follows it, without compromising on privacy and authenticity. A one-hour-and-fifteen-minute drive from Seronera airstrip means you get to enjoy a game drive before you even arrive at camp.
Namiri Plains offers game drives and, more recently, guided walking safaris, which are used to good effect, showcasing the big cats and the Great Migration which move through the area. In short, you’re in for some of the best game viewing in one of the best national parks on the planet.

Day 9-11 Tent in style and let the magic of the Serengeti unfold
You will be driven to Sayari Camp. Set close to the mighty Mara River in the northern Serengeti, it is prime locations for access to the exclusive Lamai wedge and front row position to the migration. Built on raised wooden platforms on top of a hill with with rolling panoramic views, you’d be hard pressed to picture a more idyllic place from which to enjoy Africa or the Great Migration. Plus, peak migration season aside, it’s still a winner for year round wildlife.
Sayari Camp offers the opportunity to experience the wilderness in a number of ways. Game drives lead by friendly, experienced guides will fill you in on the little secrets of the bush, while guided walking safaris (a rare occurrence in the Serengeti) allow you to see the subtleties often missed from a vehicle. Dining out in the bush is an experience unbeaten by any restaurant in the world, while cultural visits to the local community will leave you feeling warm and welcomed by Africa’s smiling people.
