Due to the continued impact of COVID-19 on global travel and the development of the pandemic, it is important that African Safari Group continues to take necessary actions and to ensure the continued safety of our clients.

We fully understand the implications this pandemic has on travel and tourism, and are sympathetic to those having already booked their dream holiday to Africa.

It is with the above in mind that the following guidelines have been developed in order to safeguard the best interests of our current clients, future travellers, our suppliers and our partners.

  • African Safari Group will endeavour to accommodate and work with our partners to help with the movement of the land-based portion of client itineraries affected by the Coronavirus. 
  • African Safari Group will make every effort to re-accommodate our clients itineraries to a new date if they are in any way directly impacted by the Coronavirus.

We would like to reassure all of our clients with existing bookings, and those who are planning to travel with us in the future, that African Safari Group is committed to providing the wonderful experiences and service that our guests have come to expect of us.

What happens if I can’t travel due to COVID-19 restrictions? Should I cancel my holiday?

In order to protect your holiday investment, African Safari Group advises to not cancel but rather postpone your travel plans. 
African Safari Group is working with our partners and suppliers to ensure and secure the postponement of bookings which have already been affected or will most likely be affected by the Coronavirus. For more information contact your Reservations Specialist.

Can I change the date of my booking regarding flights, transfers and accommodation?

African Safari Group will endeavour to move or postpone all accommodation and land-based transfers and activities on your safari holiday. Our team is working very hard to ensure that we can move your holiday to a time that is more suitable.
If you are unsure of future travel dates,in order to give you peace of mind, we can also issue you with a Credit Note. You can apply this to a future booking once your dates firm up. It will reflect the terms and conditions as well as validity of the credit being held, with our supplier, in your name.

If I want to cancel my booking, what are the cancellation fees?

Should a postponement and credit note not be a viable option and you are determined to cancel your travel plans, there will most likely be a cancellation fee that abides with African Safari Group’s terms and conditions. 
However, as the COVID-19 pandemic is considered unforeseen and is unprecedented, the travel industry has united to assist clients by amending their standard terms and conditions to assist with postponements of bookings for up to 12 months. We therefore encourage all travellers to consider this option rather than cancelling. If you are unsure of the implications of these or would like more clarity please make contact with your Reservation Specialist who will advise you.

Are there any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Africa?

There are currently confirmed cases of COVID-19 in all of the destinations we offer. Therefore, African Safari Group recommends postponing your travel to a later date. We are monitoring the situation in Africa, particularly the countries we sell and your Reservations Specialist will keep you informed of any developments regarding your booking.

Can I still book new holidays if I am wanting to travel?

Yes, African Safari Group can most certainly assist you with your future travel plans. We are open for business! 
Currently we recommend one to look at travelling from the end of 2020 onwards to hopefully avoid any postponement of travel.
